An End-Users Conference (Morocco - October 27-28, 2008)
This will consist of policy makers, curriculum developers, assessment specialists, and teacher education specialists from each of the BMENA countries. The aim of the End-Users Conference will be to provide training in the use of the Literacy Hub to address relevant aspects of country-level quality improvement education objectives. The Afghanistan Ministry of Education has generously agreed to host and maintain the Literacy Hub portal. The transfer of the Literacy Hub is currently in process. The End User meeting of the Regional Steering Committee is to be held in October under the coordination of the Ministry of Education in Afghanistan. Please direct any questions about this transfer to editor@literacyhub.org.

News Flash - August 12
The first meeting of the BMENA Literacy Hub Regional Steering Committee was held in Doha, Qatar, on July 16-17, 2008. Nine (9) BMENA country ministerial representatives including Afghanistan, Bahrain, Oman, Morocco, Iran, Qatar, Pakistan, UAE, and Yemen as well as both editors participated in the meeting. The Steering Committee discussed their support for the transfer of the Hub to the Ministry of Education, Afghanistan and the next steps required to sustain the Literacy Hub and help it become a valuable resource for the BMENA region.
